Virtual Phlebotomist (Part-Time)
Position Overview:
This a remote part-time TeleHealth position. The Virtual Phlebotomist (VP) will facilitate Zoom video conference calls for all times zones and instruct patients on how to collect their own saliva specimens in the comforts of their home. The (VP) will interact with the lab personnel and account managers to maintain current standards for the position. This position will be paid a retainer fee and a fee for each completed video call.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum education includes a high school diploma and completion of post-secondary accredited phlebotomy program
- Available minimum of 20 hours per week
- Experience with video conferencing (e.g. Zoom)
- Prior experience in a clinical setting and knowledge of medical laboratory principles, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of medical safety, cleanliness ad infection policies and regulations
- Strong presentation skills – friendly, cheerful, and helpful to patients
- Ability to maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to communicate well through written and verbal means
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
- Associate Degree
- Certificate of completion from phlebotomy training program (MLT, ASCP, CPT, or AMT)
Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Serve as primary instructor for facilitating saliva specimen collection via virtual presentation
- Work closely with Account Managers and lab personnel coordinate scheduling of appointments
- Facilitate step by step instructions with patient via video call
- Coordinate workflow to ensure timely collection of specimens
- Arrange daily activities based on urgency of requests for collection of specimens
- Identify patients and their personal information or other means
- Ensure optimal quality, quantity, and labeling of samples
- Answer patient questions and provide useful information
- Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
- FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
- May require some work on nights and weekends
